Chris Jasper interview (Fox 7 Austin)
Chris Jasper, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer known for his work as a member of the Isley Brothers in addition to being an acclaimed songwriter and keyboardist, has passed away at 73.
The news was announced on Monday evening by Jasper’s family, which issued a statement to his social media channels:

A Juilliard School of Music product, Chris Jasper was a member of the Isley Brothers after joining in 1973, and was a member of the group for an eventful decade that saw the group score a handful of Top 10 hits, including “That Lady (Part 1)” and “Fight the Power Part 1″ (both of which Jasper co-wrote).
Following the Isleys’ dissolution in the mid-1980s, Jasper took on a solo career. His most recent studio album was 2023’s It Started with a Kiss.
Chris Jasper was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
