New revelations have emerged regarding the videos linked to the Tempi train disaster, as an employee of Interstar, the company that supplied the latest footage, has provided key testimony.
According to reports, the head of Interstar’s technical department stated in an affidavit that on February 7, his manager instructed him to locate videos related to the Tempi accident, which had allegedly been deleted during their transfer to a USB stick.
The employee testified that on February 8, at 3 a.m., after returning from external work, he accessed the company’s server—where only he and his manager had permissions—and retrieved the videos from the recycling bin. He explained that he restored the files, which is why the system recorded the creation date as February 8, 2025. The recovered files were stored in a folder labeled “KEK Rapsani.”
“I don’t know why it was so urgent to restore the files on Saturday morning,” the employee remarked in his testimony.
The revelations have sparked political reactions, with Stefanos Kasselakis, leader of the Movement for Democracy, commenting on the matter in a social media post.
The Tempi train disaster, one of Greece’s worst railway accidents, continues to raise questions, as investigations into missing and recovered evidence unfold.
