The moussaka was fantastic!! Never made a vegan bechamel and it was so good. Don’t skip on the bread crumbs!
I use VioLife Feta too. That is the best oprion and they kinda similar in taste. A few years ago it wasn't so good but now they got the thing.
Do you have an alternative for the cashew béchamel? i am deathly allergic to cashews
Greek food does not consist of a lot of meat, quite the opposite. The Mediterranean diet has a maximum of 2 times a week of meat. All the rest are vegetables and legumes. Don't get carried away by the movies 🙂

Hi Nisha, I love your channel. Your chickpea curry has become a family favorite. Thanks! But I ought to inform you that Greek cuisine is not meat based. I guess it is a lot like Indian cuisine: those who know it only through restaurant fare, may think that lamb vindaloo or moussaka is all we ever eat. It is not. Moussaka, souvlaki and other such recipes are festive dishes, reserved for holidays or for treating guests. Sounds incredible? Well, for most of their history, Greeks have been subsistence farmers or shepherds; they would milk, shear or get eggs from their stock, but scarcely ever eat it. Secondly, the formidable fasts of the Orthodox church allow only for 50-54 days of meat-eating per year. The rest 315 days had to be filled somehow, so our cuisine is full of vegan or vegetarian dishes. True, takeaway has changed that, but still, during the week, a Greek family will usually have two days of legumes, two days of vegetable stews, a day of fish, a day of rice or pasta (with vegetables) and a meat-based dish, usually on Sunday.
(It's true we love our dairy though. There is hardly a day without some kind of cheese on the table 😉 )

Made the Moussaka tonight for dinner. It was amazing! I love eggplant but I’m terrible at cooking it. But this was an absolute hit! My husband that hates eggplant (yes I’m evil and make things he may not like). Really liked it and said to make it again. Love your videos. Thanks for being you!

In my state we have a place called Backyard Farms. They grow tomatoes year round, hydroponically in greenhouses, so our tomatoes always taste like fresh garden tomatoes. FYI, Follow Your Heart Feta is really good.
Mine came out terrible. Andi am generally a very good cook and use your recipes often. Every thing on this one just didn't work. There was something off every step of the way. Such a bummer it looked so good.

12:01 the six is probably from someone who (like me) both has eggplant radar and loathes the texture. Because of eggplant's nutritional profile, though, I'm always on the lookout for recipes that make it palatable and THIS appears to be an excellent candidate.

Hi. I don't know if you read the comments much but you use a lot of dill which I'm sure is lovely but I'm allergic. Anaphylactic allergic so what are good herb options to swap as I've come across a few recipes with a lot of dill in ?

For the lasagna, meat can be substituted with paneer cheese for no vegan, non dairy choice can be crumbled tofu.. correct me if I’m wrong 🥰🥰
