Israeli broadcaster KAN announced today that the song that will represent Israel at Eurovision 2025 has already been selected.
Earlier, in January, Yuval Raphael was crowned the winner of Hakohav Haba La’Eurovision 2025 and thus earned the right to represent Israel at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in May in Basel, Switzerland.
In parallel with the competition to select a representative, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation had opened the song submission process, which was completed on February 2, 2025.
More than 50 songs were submitted by selected composers and lyricists and the song was selected by a seven-member professional committee through two phases. It is noted that in the final phase, 3 to 5 songs qualified and the entire committee unanimously agreed on the selection of one song.
The creator of the song
This year’s Israeli song is written by Keren Peles, one of the composers of “Hurricane”, the song performed by Eden Golan in Malmö last year. According to KAN, the song’s lyrics include Hebrew and references to the Bible. KAN has already sent the song to the EBU for approval, which will premiere in a special broadcast on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
