Greece’s representative in Eurovision reveals her thoughts. Earlier today (February 7th), Katerina Kainourgiou welcomed Klavdia to her show’s couch.
Our representative for this year’s Eurovision opened up on the morning show of Alpha, discussing her standout performance in the national final, her plans for staging the song in Basel, and addressing rumors about a contestant in the Greek final who allegedly reacted to the results announcement by asking to see the detailed audience and jury scores.
“For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of being involved in music, although I did have a plan B. I was born and raised in Aspropyrgos. My family came from the Soviet Union in ’91 and faced great challenges rebuilding their lives,” Klavdia describes.
“Many families stayed together in a small house that belonged to my great-grandmother, and everyone worked very hard. They were frugal and built with their own hands. My grandmother managed a bread factory, my grandfather was a driver. My mother is a hairdresser and my father is also a driver. We come from a working-class, simple family. They did everything on their own,” the singer confesses.
When Yiannis Poulopoulos asked her about the rumored incident during the Greek Eurovision final involving a contestant who reacted to the results and requested the detailed scores from the audience and committees, Klavdia responded with surprise:
“Really? No, I never heard that. There was such a frenzy after the win with the crowd, we went to give interviews, meet Eurofans, and take photos. No one mentioned anything like that to me, and I didn’t hear it myself, nor do I think it would have affected me.”
