Athens Concert Hall – Piano Days: Concerts, Recitals on Weekend

The Athens Concert Hall is set to host “Piano Days,” a two-day festival celebrating the piano, on Saturday, January 25, and Sunday, January 26, 2025. The event features a diverse lineup of concerts, interactive activities for all ages, and recitals by emerging musicians.

Performances and events on Saturday, January 25:

12:00 PM – “It All Started with a Grand Piano,” a mystery game designed for children aged 6 to 10, taking place in the Alexandra Trianti Hall Foyer. Please note that tickets for this activity are sold out.
4:30 PM – “Presto, Forte e con Brio,” a knowledge-based game for adults, held in the Educational Hall. Tickets are priced at €5, with limited availability.
5:00 PM – “Alexandra Dariescu: The Nutcracker and Me,” a multimedia performance combining solo piano, dance, and digital animations, aimed at introducing classical music to younger audiences. This event will be in the Alexandra Trianti Hall, with ticket prices ranging from €25 to €35.
7:00 PM – “Alexia Mouza & Nefeli Mousoura,” a concert featuring works by Ravel, Saint-Saëns, and Márquez, arranged for two pianos. Hosted in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall, tickets are available at €12.
8:30 PM – “Alexandra Dovgan Recital,” the young Russian pianist performs sonatas by Beethoven, Schumann, and Scriabin in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall. Ticket prices are €10 (concession), €17, and €25.
10:00 PM – “Achilleas Wastor: Bach in Various Styles,” an innovative concert exploring Bach’s music through contemporary, jazz, and traditional Greek interpretations. This event is in the Christos Lambrakis Hall. Please note that tickets for this performance are sold out.

Performances and events on Sunday, January 26:

12:00 PM – “Lukas Sternath – ECHO Rising Stars,” the Austrian pianist performs Schubert’s “Wanderer Fantasy” and Brahms’ “Handel Variations” in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall. Ticket prices are €7 (concession), €10, and €15.
1:00 PM – “Young Soloists in the Foyer,” talented piano students from conservatories across Greece showcase their skills in the Ground Floor Foyer of the Christos Lambrakis Hall. Admission is free.
5:00 PM – “Apostolos Palios: For the Left Hand,” a recital featuring repertoire composed for the left hand, held in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall. Tickets are priced at €12.
7:00 PM – “Ludmila Berlinskaya & Arthur Ancelle,” the piano duo presents works by Shostakovich and Tsfasman in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall. Tickets are available at €15.
8:30 PM – “Ilya Shmukler with the National Symphony Orchestra of ERT,” the Russian pianist, winner of the 2024 Geza Anda Competition, performs Grieg’s Piano Concerto under the baton of conductor Konstantinos Terzakis in the Christos Lambrakis Hall. Ticket prices range from €10 to €25.
