“Have a listen to this guy and tell me he doesn’t sound just like Shannon Noll!?! Greek Nollsy puts in a pretty solid vocal performance on this tune that is probably better suited to a pub than Eurovision. But after listening to all 12 songs, this is the chorus that is still stuck in my head. Go figure.” ~Joel

“So smooth! Can’t wait to see this live.” ~Melanie

8. Nafsika Gavrilaki – Unhurt Me (39 points)

Highs: 6 points from Sam, Liv, Joel and Kiel

Lows: 0 points from Jamie and Craig; 2 points from Hayley, Laura and Dale

7. Konstantinos Christoforou & Kostas Karafotis – Parádeisos (45 points)

Highs: 10 points from Dale; 8 points from Kyriakos

Lows: 1 point from Cooper, Emma and Sam

“This sounds like a true Greek Balkan ballad and I adore it. This is the kind of stuff I absolutely adore even if it is a bit old school. Just beautifully done and I won’t be even slightly mad if Greek goes FULL Greek by sending this. SO close to my 12.” ~Dale

6. Barbz – Sirens (55 points)

Highs: 8 points from Hayley and Cooper; 7 points from Craig and John Christian

Lows: 1 point from Joel and Dale; 3 points from Emma and Sam

“The production takes heavy inspiration from Han Zimmer’s ‘Time’ – I don’t think it would be as egregious if the instrumentation were at least a unique spin or an interpolation was used…for me, it’s just too similar and leaves me a bit cold on an otherwise good entry.” ~Liv

5. Kostas Ageris – Gi mou (59 points)

Highs: 10 points from Liv and Kyriakos; 8 points from Emma

Lows: 0 points from John Christian and Joel; 4 points from Hayley and Cooper

“I feel like I’m getting a Tesco meal deal here – a ballad, a pop song and a traditional music serenade all for the cheap price of 3 minutes. Pros: the last minute goes hard and I bloody love it. Cons: you have to wait 2 minutes to actually get to that point with a pretty mid build-up.” ~Liv

“Very early 2000’s Greek-sounding music, but the lyrics and vocals are very impactful. Also, I love the use of the lira throughout the song, it adds to the emotion. The breakdown with the lira and chanting has big staging potential.” ~Kyriakos

4. Xannova Xan – Play It! (68 points)

Highs: 12 points from Hayley; 10 points from John Christian

Lows: 0 points from Melaine; 3 points from Liv

“If it’s not Evangelia, I might go with this one since she has experienced Eurovision before when 20 years ago, Greece sent a banger to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. If she has the same aura as it was in Junior Eurovision, I bet she may finish in the mid-table if she goes to the Grand Final.” ~ John Christan

“There really isn’t that much to this song but I absolutely love it! It certainly packs a punch! There is alot of vocal range in this song so I hope she can nail those vocals. I see many dancers on stage, and maybe staging could move this song to the top of the pack where it rightly belongs!” ~Hayley

3. Dinamiss – Odyssey (81 points)

Highs: 12 points from Sam and Joel; 10 points from Cooper

Lows: 3 points from Melaine; 4 points from Kyriakos

“The studio version is fine, but this song will absolutely go off when performed live. There’s such a huge energy to it that I reckon it’ll be a real crowd-pleaser on the main stage.” ~ Joel

“In a sea of female dance tracks, this one jumps out from the pack! The techno musical interludes have such an attack. You can imagine this banger absolutely going off in nightclubs across the Greek islands. Homer’s Odyssey is an ancient masterpiece, let’s see if Dinamiss’ piece with the same title is a modern Eurovision masterpiece!” ~Sam

“It was between this and Sirens for my second favourite of the bunch but I just couldn’t ignore the insane beat drop in Odyssey. The techno rave production in the production needs to be injected into my veins it is so addictive and if staged well, going to be a real standout during the national final (and hopefully Eurovision too). My only negative is the verses are considerably weaker than the pre-chorus but hopefully, my worries are gone when seeing it live.” ~Cooper

“This is in your face – you’re either going to love it or hate it. I am in the former camp. Whilst the vocals aren’t getting any jury points, the girls’ sound is very now and it will be popular with the younger voters.” ~ Emma

2. Klavdia – Asteromáta (82 points)

Highs: 12 points from Craig and Kyriakos; 10 points from Hayley

Lows: 1 point from Melaine; 4 points from Dale

“Absolutely love this!! The start is so haunting, with a majestic build-up. There is so much potential for some very impactful staging. This would be Greece heading down the Balkan ballad route which I would LOVE to see in Basel!” ~Kyriakos

“This could definitely go the way of “Oneiro Mou” live, but as a studio track it’s rather captivating. The production feels a tad more expensive and finished than on the other tracks, and this doesn’t seem too difficult to translate to a live performance setting. Wonderful!” ~Craig

“Just gorgeous. I see moody staging, drama, gorgeous vocals. There is some really interesting sounds in the backing track too. I hope they leave this song in the Greek language should it go to Eurovision. For a ballad the song goes quite quickly and doesn’t stagnate, a very enjoyable 3 minutes… looking forward to seeing this live and it really will stand out amongst the rest of the pack.” ~Hayley

1. Evangelia – Vále (101 points)

Highs: 12 points from John Christian, Cooper, Liv, Dale and Emma; 10 points from Craig and Sam

Lows: 2 points from Joel; 6 points from Hayley and Kyriakos

“Greece better not mess up like what Albania did. Evangelia’s song may be as good as Elvana Gjata’s Karnaval, but it has a vibe similar to a World Cup anthem. If Greece sends this, it would definitely be a Top 10 contender in the Eurovision Grand Final.” ~John Christian

“A distinct top five in this national final and all five are very hard to decide which sits where on my ranking but this song overall is the strongest package. Evangelia is a star and will deliver this with everything she has, I’m excited to see this come even more alive with a crowd chanting Vale!” ~Cooper

“An anthemic banger that maintains its Greek identity – what’s not to love! Everything has been thrown at this but somehow it all works. Can’t wait to see this live!” ~ Emma

“This is a Eurobanger with quality. Has a “world cuppy” type sound but some very nice lyrics and verses to build up to that general Euro chorus. I feel it still has something “greek” (hello that big instrumental) while still being accessible to all audiences. Love it, obsessed.” ~Dale

“Elvana Gjata fell so Evangelia must rise! I am a sucker for these “football anthem-esque” songs – this isn’t as strong as Karnaval and the production could have had a few more pennies thrown at it but the energy is enough for me. They’ve chucked a bit in Greek and a little traditional instrumentation break *chefs kiss* – if she can perform this well and extract the energy from the song then it should do well.” ~Liv

“One of the catchiest yet sophisticated entries in this Greek national final line-up. I think Evangelia will find it difficult to compete with Dinamiss who has a song of a similar genre. But I hope this does well in the final placings.” ~Sam

“After the defeat of Elvana Gjata at FiK, everyone’s (my?) hopes for a great big World Cup-style footstomper in the vein of Be My Guest (Ukraine 2012) were seeming low… but this is super fun! I love the little dance break, the chorus is energetic while still managing to feel cool, and Evangelia’s been trying for so many years now that surely she’s got her act together performance-wise, right? Would be delighted to see this one on the stage in Basel.” ~Craig

Ethnikós Telikós 2025 will be held on 30 January 2025 (31 January 2025 in Australia) at the Christmas Theatre in Athens. The artist and song will be chosen via a 50% public vote, 25% Greek jury and a 25% international jury.
