Bulgarian thrash metallers Terravore, will come for the first time in Grece for the Decibel Rebel Festival III that will be held in 22nd of March in Kavala. Last year Terravore released their 3rd full length album “Spiral Of Downfall” which got great reviews. Το RockOverdose had the chance and talked with the band in an interview about all the subjects.
RockOverdose: Hello and welcome to RockOverdose.
Trendafil: Hi!
Ivan: Hello and thanks for the interest in our band!
RockOverdose: How are you guys? What is happening in the Terravore camp these days?
Trendafil:Listening to some metal as usual and preparing for the tour. We’re working on new material as well.
Ivan:Having some rehearsals from time to time, doing some small parties. We’re always looking for any events to get drunk. As Trendafil mentioned we’re working on new material, preparing for Decibel Rebel Festival and the rest of our tour.
Boyko: Everything’s fine, we’re trying to do some new music while preparing for the upcoming tour.
Kalin: Just each one minding their own business, and from time to time some rehearsals in attempt to work on new stuff for a next album.
RockOverdose: Since it’s the first time we do an interview we would like you to say a couple of things about the band.
Ivan: Well, the band was founded in 2015 by me and Kalin under different name and with different drummer. Some time after we decided to get rid of the drummer and the name, and when Trendafil joined we did a fresh start with the current name. Boyko joined the band in 2018.
In 2025 we’re celebrating 10 years of existence to which we’re looking kinda as an achievement. Not many bands in Bulgaria succeed to exist for longer time.
When it comes to the band’s name I’m pretty sure Kalin can add more on that since he’s the guy who named the band.
Our music is mainly thrash oriented with other influences like death, black and heavy metal. Since the band was formed we released 3 full-length albums and 2 Eps.
Kalin: About the name… I was looking for something unique and not taken by any other band. So somehow I combined two Latin words – “terra” (land) and “vore” (consume/eating something) and here it is – Terravore. We would describe the name as something which consumes matter or devour planets. Later we found out about the game “Magic: The Gathering”. There’s a card named “Terravore”, but I wasn’t aware about that when I was choosing the name.
RockOverdose: Last year, you released your 3rd album “Spiral Of Dowfall”. What was the reaction of your fans?
Trendafil: Fans accepted it very well. Many people told us that this is our best work so far.
Ivan: Basically it was well-accepted. Heard many opinions and I don’t remember any negative ones.
Boyko: The reactions were mainly positive! The majority of our fans liked the album and also we got some new fans.
Kalin: They seemed to enjoy it, as far as we know. They still have interest on the merch at least.
RockOverdose: Which are the main influences of Terravore?
Trendafil: Demolition Hammer, Sodom, Kreator, Slayer, Suicidal Angels, Vektor, Coroner, Death
Ivan: Many many old-school thrash, death and black bands. Trendo mentioned the important ones, I would like to add Sadus, Megadeth, Immortal, but there are many more bands as well.
Boyko: I would add Testament as well.
Kalin: Have to mention Vio-Lence and Wabringer too.
RockOverdose: From a little research that I did, you are a band that does as many gigs as possible and your shows have great energy.
Trendafil: Yes!
Ivan: Yeah, after all thrash metal is all about energy and attitude. We try to deliver that to the people whose listening us at live shows. It’s always great to see people enjoying and delivering the same thing back to the band. I’m really looking forward to meet more cool people in Greece and hopefully they’ll enjoy our stuff.
Kalin:Quite exact, that’s what we aim for.
RockOverdose: Next March, at 22nd, you are coming Greece as headliners of Decibel Rebel Festival in Kavala. How did that happen?
Trendafil: We were invited by the guys organizing the festival.
Ivan: We’re absolutely stocked for the festival and it’s a great honor to headline it, but for me personally there are no headliners on such event. All bands are great and I’m pretty sure the fans will enjoy each one of them.
When it comes to how that happened… As I’m remembering correctly one of the guys from Filthy Ferret Crew contacted us through email. Offered us to join the festival and we simply accepted. Shout out to the crew guys and thanks for that opportunity.

RockOverdose: This is the first time you play in Greece right?
Trendafil: Yes and we’re very excited!
Ivan: Yeah … and we’ve heard very cool things about the Greek underground scene. Especially the thrash one. You guys delivered some great bands and it seems you’re the Germany of the Balkans when it comes to thrashing. You know what I mean!
Boyko:Yes! We are looking forward with great expectations! We are sharing the stage with many great bands! For sure the night will be great and full of beer, riffs, moshing and most important – thrashing!
RockOverdose: Have you ever played with any Greek band?
Trendafil: Yes we have played with Suicidal Angels, Bio-Cancer, Exarsis, Chronosphere and Warhammer.
RockOverdose: Would you like to add anything as the closing of the interview?
Trendafil: See you in Kavala and prepare for us some ouzo and tzatziki!
Ivan: In short we’re excited and happy that we have the chance to play for our south neighbors. I’m sure we’ll all have one hell of a night! Support your local scene and keep thrashing!
Kalin:We feel very excited about expanding our stage on south from our country, we certainly think it’s gonna be a killer show, and that this will be an opportunity for future shows in Greece.
RockOverdose: Thank you for your time and see you soon in Kavala!
Trendafil: Hell yeah! Yes! 666!
Ivan: Thanks for the interview and your time as well! 665+1
Kalin:It was an honor, see you in the pit, metal maniacs!
