The national broadcaster of Greece, ERT, officially unveiled on Friday afternoon the twelve songs competing in the country’s national selection dubbed ”Ethnikós Telikós 2025”, for the Eurovision Song Contest.

This means that Greece returns to a televised selection process after several years of internal choices, where the country’s representation in Europe’s largest television event was decided internally by ERT.

The event will take place on January 30, 2025, at the Christmas Theatre in Galatsi, Athens.

Who is competing to represent Greece in Eurovision 2025

The lineup of the twelve songs that were picked to compete in the national final features a mix of well-known performers and emerging talents, with each artist hoping to represent Greece at Eurovision in Basel, Switzerland this May.

A total of 187 submissions were received by ERT, and a five-member committee narrowed them down to these twelve finalists:

How the selection procedure will unfold

The winner will be determined through a combination of public televoting (50 per cent), a Greek jury (25 per cent), and an international jury (25 per cent). In case of a tie, the public vote will take precedence and determine who will represent Greece in Eurovision 2025.

Although not officially announced yet, it is expected that the show will be hosted by Eurovision legends Helena Paparizou (winner in 2005) and Sakis Rouvas, who has represented Greece twice, finishing 3rd in 2004 and 7th in 2009. Renowned stage director Fokas Evangelinos will oversee the creative direction of the night.

Fans are already buzzing about potential favorites. Klavdia’s emotional ballad and Evangelia’s fusion track have already earned significant attention online with Youtube reviews and comments on social media expressing their opinions about them.

However, with such a diverse lineup, it’s anyone’s game as Greece aims to secure another strong Eurovision result.
