Greece’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, in collaboration with the Permanent Delegations of Egypt, Monaco, and Morocco, will hold a concert by Greek composer Evanthia Reboutsika on January 16 at the organization’s headquarters, ANA reports.
According to a related statement, the Paris concert titled “A Mediterranean Symphony” is a historical musical experience, a cultural voyage that Reboutsika will present through three singers – a Greek, a Moroccan, and an Egyptian – to convey a message of peace through the uniqueness of music, with melodies and songs that unite peoples, beyond and above linguistic as well as any other kind of borders.
The statement also noted that Reboutsika is an informal ambassador for music and culture and that her music relates to the culture of the Mediterranean that links peoples in southern Europe, from the Balkans to Africa, and from Suez to Gibraltar.
