“It’s a huge pleasure to be at this huge party in Denmark again. The joy that surrounds DMGP is probably what many of us need in the difficult times we live in. At the same time, it is now a Danish and European tradition, whose cultural significance goes beyond music!”

Stephanie Surrugue

“My experience last year was magical. There is a very special atmosphere at DMGP and the best and most dedicated fans, who create a scene full of joy and sparkle. I hope the world is ready for another party with lots of good music and fun. I can’t wait to give everyone a huge giant welcome, of course with my big idol Stéphanie Surrugue.

The program director, Erik Struve Hansen, for his part, states:

“Dansk Melodi Grand Prix is an annual celebration of Danish music and tradition. The festival brings together the whole country and all generations. Last year, more than a million Danes watched DMGP, which shows that the show continues to “engage” a huge audience across the country! We look forward to creating a national final on March 1st that will showcase the best of this year’s eight artists!”

We remind you that this year 8 songs will compete at DMGP and according to Mr. Erik Struve Hansen, head of the festival and the Danish delegation for Eurovision, the level is expected to be particularly high. The selection of the finalists was made with an emphasis on musical styles and sound codes, which will bring Denmark back on track to success in the contest. This year, more than ever, a selection process has been followed with an emphasis on interpretation, but also psychological control.

In fact, we are also expected to see a well-known Eurostar competing! Among the rumored names, we find Tim Schou, who became famous in 2011, when he represented Denmark at Eurovision, with the band “A Friend In London” and the song “New Tomorrow”, Rasmussen (Eurovision 2018) and Anja Nissen (Eurovision 2017). The announcement of the songs will be made on February 6, 2025!
