Christos Mastoras (Vodinos, Deropolis, November 14, 1986) is a Greek singer and the frontman of the band MELISSES. He is one of the most talented and successful artists of his generation, and his social activities are just as rich as his professional endeavors.
He comes from the minority village of Vodino, one of the Greek-inhabited northern villages of Albania, and moved to Greece with his parents at the age of 3.5 years. His family settled in Koukaki.
Christos Mastoras moved the audience while speaking about his father during the concert of the band MELISSES in Kavala, at the packed “Anthi Karagianni” stadium. The occasion was his father Alfred’s birthday, with the popular artist speaking with heartfelt words and dedicating a special song, “Ah Greece,” to him from the stage.
More specifically, Christos Mastoras said:
“Today is a particularly special evening. On this day in 1961, a superhero was born. He didn’t wear Superman’s cape, nor a mask to hide his identity. Because of this identity, for better or worse, abroad he was Greek and in Greece, he was a stranger. His superpower is his lion-hearted courage, his uncomfortable honesty, his boundless knowledge, and the half cigarette in his mouth warning you not to mess with him or get burned. He taught me not to be afraid. He taught me to question everything but also to respect. He taught me about good music too. Happy birthday, Dad. I dedicate this song to you from the bottom of my heart, because you were the one who introduced me to Nikos Papazoglou.”
We remind you that MELISSES continue their tour this year with stops in Northern Greece, specifically in Siviri, Alexandroupoli, and Katerini (August 16, 17, and 19).
It is worth mentioning that the song “Monachiki Kardia,” recently released by Panik Records, continues its successful run, having already gone double platinum in about a month and a half, being no.1 on radio airplay for 1 consecutive month, as well as no.1 on both the general and music trends on YouTube for several weeks.
