On the show, which is hosted on Rumble, Guilfoyle said she was “thrilled have the opportunity” to carry Trump’s message of “hope and optimism” to Greece.
“I’m eager to earn the support of the US Senate and to work with our key Greek allies to strengthen the bilateral partnership and deliver energy, security, peace, and prosperity,” Guilfoyle said.
She spoke of her “great love and admiration … for the incredible county of Greece.”
“I’m so inspired and impressed by the resiliency of the Greek people, their economic trajectory and their unbelievable history that is so rich, the birthplace of democracy,” she said, adding that she was a “student and scholar of ancient Greek history.”
“I wanted to do something that was an important and challenging position that would match my enthusiasm, intellect and work ethic, in an area of the world that is significant and really work to foster the bilateral relations between the US and Greece in energy, trade and the economy,” Guilfoyle said.
The ambassadorial nominee also shared a “fun fact” that on her birthday every year, “I always want to have Greek food. I love lamb, the Greek honey, yogurt – all combined.”
Guilfoyle was joined on the show by “iconic Greek American businessman” John Catsimatidis, a vocal Trump supporter and donor, who she joked should become the next president of Greece.
“Look at the screen right here. Further ambassador to Greece and let’s get him as president.”
Political assistant and lobbyist Roger Stone, who also joined the show as a guest, described Guilfoyle’s nomination as “one of President Trump’s best appointments.”
Guilfoyle also mentioned Tom Barrack, the nominee for the ambassador role in Turkey, underlining the importance of collaboration in the region.
