VRT announced today the eight artists who will compete in “Eurosong 2025”, aspiring to represent Belgium at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland.
The 8 finalists!
22-year-old Grace Khuabi won the seventh season of “The Voice of Belgium” in 2021, while earlier this year she made her musical debut in the Flemish version of the musical “Hairspray”.
34-year-old Jelle van Dael became famous, literally overnight, when in 2008 she became the new singer of the band “Lasgo”, winning a TV talent show. This year she competed in “Sing Again”, aired on the Flemish private TV channel, VTM.
29-year-old Manou Maerten took part in Belgium’s 2009 national final for the “Junior Eurovision” Song Contest, placing second. Born and raised in Durbuy, Le Manou focuses primarily on French-language repertoire.
31-year-old Lisa Van Rossem participated in the Flemish version of “The Voice” in 2016. She is the sister of the popular Flemish singer Metejoor. Her song “Toxic Lullaby” was this year nominated for Zomerhit, an annual, important, music award, organized by Belgium’s biggest radio station, Radio 2.
25-year-old Len Neefs is the son of Flemish singer Gunther Neefs and grandson of Louis Neefs, who represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1967 and 1969. He is popular on social media platforms, mainly for his covers of other songs.
24-year-old Mentissa won the Flemish version of “The Voice Kids” in 2014. However, her career took off when she came third in the adult, French version of the same talent show. Last year she was nominated for Zomerhit with her song “Mamma Mia”, while “Et Bam” literally made waves all over Europe.
25-year-old Seppe Herreman rose to fame in 2014 as a finalist on “Belgium’s Got Talent”. During his studies at the music conservatory of Ghent, he met the Belgian representative of Eurovision 2023, Gustaf, with whom he maintains a close friendship today.
37-year-old Stefanie Callebaut was the singer of the band “SX”, but from 2022 she made the decision to pursue a solo career, choosing to perform songs in the West Flanders dialect. Earlier this year, she appeared on the VRT show, “Ik vraag het aan”.
The dates of Eurosong 2025!
The Eurosong 2025 final is scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2025.
VRT is going to tape two shows, for Eurosong 2025, on Tuesday 10 and Saturday 14 December 2024, in order to get to know the eight contestants better. These shows will be shown in January 2025, when the 8 nominated songs will be announced.
