Have you ever heard 200 guitarists play together on stage? A unique opportunity to experience this musical union is approaching as the Cyprus Guitar Orchestra holds concerts in Limassol and Nicosia. Presented by Omega Channel, the concerts are coming up in December to fill the winter with even more music sounds.
What is even more exciting for music lovers, guitar fans and Greek music enthusiasts specifically, is that joining the orchestra will be the Cyprus Guitar Trio and the Nikea Guitar Trio and also acclaimed Greek singer Eleni Tsaligopoulou. Taking over the artistic direction of the concerts is Antonis Koizas while Antonis Mitakidis will conduct the orchestra.
First, the orchestra will perform at the Pattihio Theatre Limassol on December 29 and on the following evening, guitar melodies will sound at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.
Eleni Tsaligopoulou will sing her beloved songs in a unique way, as well as other songs that she cherishes and that have defined her as an artist. “One of the most distinctive voices and personalities in Greek music,” say organisers, “Tsaligopoulou is a beloved artist who constantly experiments, reminding us of our past while beautifully looking at tradition and uniquely blending the sounds of the East and West.”
