The Grand Celebration Of Hellenism Featuring Kostas Karafotis – Greek City Times

On the weekend of November 2nd and 3rd, Oakleigh Glendi returns for the ninth consecutive year, celebrating Hellenism in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne. Organized by the Greek Orthodox Community of Saints Anargyroi in the Greek-dominated suburb of Oakleigh, this multicultural event showcases Greek music from community organizations and Oakleigh Grammar.

The event will take place at Warrawee Park, with special guest appearance by popular Greek singer Kostas Karafotis, who recently released his new song “Krifos Paradeisos.” Karafotis will perform on Saturday night.

The organizers aim to surpass the previous record of 20,000 visitors, supported by the City of Monash and the Victorian Multicultural Affairs Commission. The festival aims to highlight the various ethnic communities in the area, in addition to celebrating Greek culture.

Chris Damatopoulos, president of the Greek Orthodox Community, has called on all Greeks in Melbourne to support this year’s festival. On Sunday, November 3rd, Greek-Australian singer Maia Marouli will take the stage, while renowned chef George Calombaris will offer cooking demonstrations featuring traditional Greek recipes.

Visitors can enjoy food stalls offering a variety of cuisines, a bar, and various booths selling jewelry, crafts, spices, and more. For families and children, the Kids Zone will offer interactive games and activities.
