World’s only Eataly at sea to set sail with MSC Cruises’ newest flagship

If there weren’t enough reasons to book your next cruise, MSC Cruises is partnering with the renowned Italian brand Eataly for its new flagship MSC World America, which will feature the only Eataly restaurant at sea. This is the partnership we didn’t know we needed.

The new Eataly restaurant aboard MSC World America is sure to satisfy guests’ taste buds, and will include some of the restaurant’s fan favorites – as well as dishes that will be exclusively available on board.

“As an international cruise line with a strong European heritage, we are committed to taking our guests on a gastronomic journey of discovery with the onboard dining experience as we believe that the best memories are made when sharing good food together,” says Bernhard Stacher, MSC Cruises’ head of hotel operations.

Eataly on MSC World America provides a warm, inviting design and celebrates Italian culture and tradition. If you’ve been to one of the brand’s restaurants, it should come as no surprise that the new location at sea will include a selection of carefully selected ingredients from Italian suppliers, and guests will be treated to homemade pasta crafted on-site.

“MSC World America stays true to the philosophy of featuring fresh ingredients and hand-made recipes, which is why we have partnered with Eataly – an emblem of ‘Made in Italy’ and Italian culinary artistry,” says Stacher. “We both have a passion for high-quality, authentic food, and together we are creating a unique experience that can only be enjoyed on board MSC World America.”

MSC Cruises and Eataly revealed the delectable menus they will offer at sea at Eataly NYC Flatiron on Friday. The invite-only event included tastings that will be exclusive to the passengers, like Mandilli al Pesto, a homemade pesto with toasted pine nuts, green beans, potato, taggiasca, extra virgin olive oil and topped with a Pecorino Romano. They also served up a decadent Tagliatelle al Tartufo Nero with butter, Parmigiano Reggiano and fresh black truffle; and a Milanese, a lightly breaded and fried bone-in veal chop served with Italian chicories, lemon, Olitalia, and extra virgin olive oil.

“Eataly is more than just a restaurant, and we pride ourselves on creating a one-of-a-kind experience that showcases the Italian art of living,” says Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America. “With the new Eataly on MSC World America, our goal is to provide guests with an authentic taste of our country and a look into the process of how these iconic dishes are made.”

Including Eataly, MSC World America will offer 19 dining venues – including four elegant main restaurants, two relaxed buffets, two exclusive venues for guests in the MSC Yacht Club, and one-of-a-kind experiences, so there is something for everyone to enjoy. New additions include Paxos Greek restaurant, which will offer fresh seafood and fish with outdoor dining and music at dinner. MSC World America is also adding five fast-casual concepts: Guests can enjoy Greek bites at Paxos on the Go, comfort staples like hotdogs and cotton candy at Promenade Bites, savory snacks and sweet treats at The Harbour Bars & Bites, pizza at La Boca Grill and American classics at Luna Park Pizza and Burger.
