🇬🇷 Greece: Eurovision 2025 Song Submission Window Open


ERT, the Greek national broadcaster, has opened its song submission window for the Greek national final for Eurovision 2025.

ERT has opened its submission window for for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The window is open from today until midnight Greek time on November 10.

Some rules of the selection are as follows:

  • Songs must be original and no longer than 3 minutes in length.
  • Songs must not have been performed or released publicly before September 1 2024.
  • Songs must be in Greek and/or English.
  • No changes to the song are allowed during the initial selection process. Any selected songs will be allowed to undergo minor changes.
  • Artists must be at least 16 years old on the day of the national final.
  • Artists must be Greek citizens, be permanent residents in Greece or have at least one Greek parent.
  • Composers and songwriters may be from any country.
  • Songwriters and composers may submit up to two songs. However, only one song per songwriter/composer will be allowed in the final.

Once the submission window has closed, a jury of up to five people will evaluate the songs. The names of the songs, artists and composers will not be revealed to the jury during this stage. The jury will select up to 12 songs to compete in the national final, as well as three reserve songs.

A live national final will be used to select the Greek entry for Eurovision 2025. The winner will be chosen by a combination of two juries; one Greek and one international (50%), and public voting (50%). In case of a tie, public voting will take preference.

More details, including the date of the national final, will be revealed at a later date.

Marina Satti represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with “Zari”. She placed 11th in the Grand Final receiving 126 points, including 12 points from the Cypriot public.

Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest

Greece debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 when they were represented by Marinella and the song “Krasi, thalassa kai t’agori mou” which finished in 11th place with 7 points. Three years later Greece earned their first top 5 finish with Paschalis, Marianna, Robert, and Bessy who finished in 5th place with “Mathima solfege”. In 2001 ,Greece achieved their first top 3 result with Antique and the song “I Would Die For You”. The song became a European hit and charted across the continent. In 2005, Helena Paparizou returned to the Eurovision stage as a solo artist and brought Greece their first, and to date only, victory. Her song “My Number One” won with 230 points, beating runners-up Malta by 38 points.
