Chef Michael Cooper of The Osprey is hosting a charity dinner Oct. 21 dubbed “Courses & Conversations” with local chefs Nikk Burton (The Monroe), Rhys Gawlak (JW Marriott Grande Lakes), Lordfer Lalicon (Kaya) and Michael Tiva (Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill). The meal is intended to raise awareness about eating disorders and their impact. Tickets are $200 (wine/tax/tip included) with proceeds going to benefit the National Alliance for Eating Disorders. Tickets to Cows ‘n Cabs, one of the most popular food-and-drink fests in the city, are now on sale, ranging from $200 to an eye-popping $650. A slew of restaurants (35-plus) and vendors offering more than 200 beer/wine/booze options are slated to set up in Central Park between Park and New York avenues Nov. 9 from 6-10:30 p.m. An affiliated event — “Burgers, Bubbles, Beer” — takes place Nov. 7 from 7-10 p.m. featuring “six to eight” restaurants. Orlando Greek Fest returns to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Maitland Nov. 1-3 featuring music, dance, culture and, of course, food. Everything from lamb shank and avgolemono to saganaki and galaktoboureko will be offered. Admission to the festival is free. Visit orlandogreekfest.com for more.

The 23rd annual Taste of Thornton Park goes from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 on East Washington Street. Scores of food and beverage vendors will be on hand. Note: Children, strollers and pets are not permitted. Cost is $40, or $50 on the day of the event. Visit thorntonpark.org for more.
