COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT- Savor Greek Delights for a Cause: Fundraiser to Expand Parkhill Trails!

A special Greek-themed night is happening in Parkhill on Monday, October 21st to raise funds for the expansion of the local trail system. The event will be held at Nikos Restaurant and will support the Friends of North Middlesex Trails’ project to extend the Parkhill trails.

Communications Specialist at the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation, Tim Cumming explains the event.

The event promises an evening of delicious Greek food and cultural entertainment, including Greek music, photos, and videos. The dinner will include a starter of soup, followed by Chicken Souvlaki, Greek Salad, Roasted Potatoes, Rice, Spanakopita, and a Greek dessert. Guests who prefer Pork Souvlaki can request a substitution when buying their tickets.

Tickets for the event cost $50, with $20 from each ticket going toward the trail expansion project. Each ticket also comes with a $20 charitable receipt for tax purposes from the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.

The event is part of a larger fundraising effort planned for 2024-2025 to help enhance the Parkhill trail system.

This fundraiser is an important step in helping to expand local outdoor spaces for recreation and nature appreciation.
