‘Taste of Orthodoxy’ offers food, music, dance – Times-Standard


Saint Innocent Orthodox Church will hold its annual Eastern European and Greek festival, “Taste of Orthodoxy,” Oct. 12 from noon to 4 p.m. on the church grounds, 939 F St., Eureka.

This is a celebration of central and eastern European culture through food, music and dance. Guests can expect an array of cultural delights, from traditional Eastern European and Greek food and drink to the lively tunes by the international folk band Chubritza.

Other attractions include the 4th of July Gyro Booth, a full bar with imported spirits, an array of Eastern European foods and a Russian tea room serving international delicacies.

Visitors can also attend a Byzantine choir performance that will complement a guided tour of the temple, which stands as the oldest church building in Eureka, constructed in 1883. Admission is free, and all are welcome. For more information, visit eurekafirstchurch.com.
