Singing Legend Marinella Faints on Stage at Herodion Concert

Three songs into a sold out concert at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, Greek singing legend Marinella fainted on stage.

Members of her team rushed to the stage to help her, while emergency medical services rushed her to the hospital.

With a career spanning more than six decades and countless songs that have become timeless classics, Marinella is considered “Greek music royalty.” The concert was intended to be a tribute to her career and included a guest appearance by Antonis Remos.

Up until a few days ago, Christos Mastoras, frontman of the popular group Melisses was also included in the lineup but was abruptly removed from the show, sources say by Marinella herself, because she she didn’t believe he was prepared for the performance.

Coincidentally, Mastoras, one of the most popular young male vocalists in Greece, is the star of the new film “Iparho,” (I exist), which tells the story of singing giant Stelios Kazantzidis, who was married to Marinella for two years and together became a popular singing duo to Greek audiences.

The fainting is trending on X, with shocked attendees posting videos of the actual moment the 86-year-old singer collapsed. Some have been viewed and reshared tens of thousands of times already with fans from throughout the world posting their well-wishes, while others criticizing such videos being posted.
