TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Downtown Toledo will be hosting the 53rd annual Greek-American Festival Sept. 5-7.
There will be an à la carte menu at the food tent with beer, gyros and pastries also available. The food tent will feature three dinner plates, the Souvlaki Platter, which will offer pork souvlaki on a bed of rice, pastichio, spanakopita and bread. The Chicken Platter will have chicken oregano on a bed of rice pilaf, pastichio, spanakopita and bread. The third option will be the Lamb Shank Platter, which will have rice and green beans and bread.
Fast food tents at the festival will serve beef, lamb and chicken gyros along with Greek fries, hot dogs and more.
The Olympus Band from Cleveland will perform Greek and American music all three days of the festival.
The festival will begin Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. with free admission until 3 p.m. After that, admission will be $5 for adults, and children 12 and under who are accompanied by a parent or guardian will be free.
The hours for the festival will be Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sept. 6 from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sept. 7 from noon to 6 p.m.
The entrances for the festival will be at Walnut and Superior streets and at Summit and Walnut.
