ORANGE, Calif. (KABC) — Need plans for this Labor Day weekend?
Mark your calendars for the 2025 Orange International Street Fair in Plaza Park, where, as the theme says, “Tradition Never Gets Old.”
This year’s fair will feature 15 ethnic streets selling delicious foods and flavors, from Switzerland and Greece to Australia and Brazil.
Kicking off on Friday, Aug. 29 at 5 p.m. and running through Sunday Aug. 31 until 10 p.m., this favorite weekend festival has something for everyone to enjoy.
“This event is always a tradition for a lot of people. They come to it year after year. So, we realize that, you know, this is their favorite thing to do,” President of OISF Adam Feliz said.
Feliz’s favorite part of putting on the fair is watching the community enjoy its atmosphere. He also highlighted the relationships between the organization and guests that have been built over many years of their attendance.
“Seeing your friends and family, enjoying all the food and beverage, that never gets old. So, it’s always fresh, even though it’s a once-a-year thing,” Feliz said.
Music also plays a major role in this event, with seven live entertainment stages hosting performances featuring American, German, Greek, Irish, Mexican and Polynesian music.
“Music just gives a good opportunity to experience the culture of the different cultures that are around,” Feliz said.
Feliz said having so many entertainment stages allows people to find a spot for a meal, relax and listen to a unique melody that they may not have heard before.
The Orange International Street Fair is solely organized and staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers, often including students and retirees.
“On Friday when the event starts, we’re able to kind of sit back and enjoy the event as well. I think that’s kind of my favorite moment is, ‘Hey, we put in all this hard work, all year long!'” Feliz said.
Proceeds from over 30 non-profit booths will go back to the local community.
The fair will be located in historic Old Towne Orange, at Plaza Park and its surrounding streets. The address is 112 E Chapman Ave., in Orange.
