ERT has officially opened the submissions window for Ethnikós Telikós 2026. Artists and composers can send their songs from now until 2 November 2025.
Format and Voting
This year’s Ethnikós Telikós will feature a larger format:
- 28 songs in total will compete,14 per semi-final.
- 7 songs from each semi-final will advance to the grand final.
- Semi-finals will be decided entirely by public televote.
- In the grand final, the winner will be chosen by a mix of 50% public vote, 25% Greek jury and 25% international jury
Rules for application
Here are the rules for submitting a song:
- The song must be original and unpublished, with no release prior to 1 September 2025.
- Its duration may not exceed three minutes.
- Entries can be in any language.
- A maximum of six performers is allowed on stage.
- Lyrics containing offensive, political or abusive content are prohibited.
- After submission, no changes to the title, lyrics, performer or language will be permitted.
Greece’s Eurovision journey
In 1974, Greece made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou”, which placed 11th. Since then, they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.
Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Klavdia with the song “Asteromáta”. Following her performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 6th place. She earned a total of 231 points, of which 105 were from the national juries and 126 were from the televoters.
