🇨🇾 Cyprus: Andy Nicolas Announced as Backing Singer for Theo Evan


Greek national selection finalist Andy Nicolas has been revealed as a backing singer for Cyprus at Eurovision 2025.

The Cypriot delegation has revealed that Andy Nicolas will be providing live backing vocals for Theo Evan at the Eurovision Song Contest. Andy competed in the Greek national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with “Lost My Way” finishing 10th scoring a total of 8 points.

Andy was born in Odense, Denmark for a Greek-Canadian farther and Danish mother and was one of twelve artists to compete in the Greek selection for Eurovision 2025. He has been performing since the age of 13 and began releasing music in the late 2010s.

Theo Evan was internally selected to represent Cyprus at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest with “Shh”. The song was created by Dimitris Kontopoulos, an established Greek composer, Lasse Nymann and Linda Dale, the duo behind the winning song “The Code”, and Norway’s Elsie Bay.

Theo Evan will perform “Shh” last in the first semi-final, on May 13.

Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. Their best result was in 2018, with Eleni Foureira and the performance of the song “Fuego” won second place with 436 points. Before then, their best results in the contest came in the form of three fifth-place finishes. In 2004, Lisa Andreas performed “Stronger Every Minute” in Istanbul, Turkey. She finished 5th in the final scoring 170 points, which included 12 points from Greece. They also placed fifth in 1997 with Hara & Andreas Constantinou and their song “Mana mou”, and in 1982 with Anna Vissi’s “Mono i agapi.”
