Holidaymakers heading to Greece, this week, have been warned to expect significant travel delays; with a 24-hour transport worker strike affecting all public transport in the country’s capital Athens.

Transport workers’ unions are holding the day of action to mark the second anniversary of the Tempe rail crash – for which they are still seeking justice – which resulted in 57 deaths.
The strike is set for Friday February 28 and is set to affect ferries, trains and airports, as air traffic controllers will also be striking. It, ultimately, means all commercial flights to and from Athens Venizelos International Airport will be cancelled on the day.
