Taste of Greece Celebrating 27th Year this Weekend

Kate Patronas, a chairperson with the event, said it’s a food festival with everything from gyros to baklava and greek pastries.

“We also have an express tent, so if you’re a little short on time or don’t want to come inside and get the full menu, you can grab a gyro ror greek sausage to go,” Kate Patronas said.

There’s even a new to-go pastry tent.

There will be multiple dance troupes performing throughout the weekend and they’ll showcase costumes from around the region.

The event was started by George Patronas’ grandpa.

“We used to hold it in our parking lot at the church down on 2nd street and we outgrew the church 10 years ago and moved it up to Marshall School and it’s just been growing ever since,” George said.

The event supports the Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church and the outreach they do.

Taste of Greece is on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.  Admission and parking is free.
