English actor/singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse was joined by American singer-songwriter Ashe onstage last night at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The pair previewed their joint single, “Pushing Daises,” which will be officially released tomorrow, Friday, October 25.
Waterhouse is on tour in support of her sophomore album, Memoir Of A Sparklemuffin, which Sub Pop Records released last month. Waterhouse performed 12 of the album’s 18 tracks at The Greek.
Waterhouse almost forgot to bring out Ashe at last night’s concert in L.A., as she started to dedicate a song to an audience member before realizing the collaboration set to happen first. Waterhouse corrected herself and then addressed the audience at The Greek.
“I have actually been feeling a little bit lonely up there,” Waterhouse told the crowd. “So should I have someone come out? I sort of felt like maybe the most beautiful, sweetest, angel girl – who I also happened to write a song with that comes out on Friday – should join me. Please welcome the amazing Ashe!”
“Writing this song with Suki ironically brought me back to life,” Ashe, whose album Wilson came out last month as well, shared about the pending single. Ashe also called the collaboration “a duet with a dear friend.”
