   This isnt really an accurate post or description of Hel.
   Id like to point out that Hel does not rule over Niflheim and the underworld was not referred to as Niflheim. Hel rules over Hel, and the underworld is referred to as Hel. It means something like "Hidden" and is cognate with English "Hell" and Greek "Hades"
   Niflheim is actually quite debated and appears in only 2 sources. Gylfaginning and Forspjallsljod. It MAY have never even existed at all.

   Hel only really controls the fates of those within her realm and doesnt have sway over life or the fate of the living. That is the Norns job.
