When it comes to women’s gymnastics, everyone’s focus in Tokyo will be to attempt to perform better than the United States; for they have been crowned the Olympics gymnastics team champions and managed to grab four gold medals in the past two Olympic Games. Therefore, it is no wonder that pundits believe that it is genuinely a difficult task to have to pick the US Olympic team that would appear in Tokyo 2020.

The four-member team, including two specialists format, is new to the Tokyo Games, by means of the International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG), adding the two slots so that the smaller nations who could not compete in a full team could still take part.

The women’s team is the most varied that the US has ever sent to the Olympics and it represents a mix of force and technique, capable of bringing a vast number of gold medals to the American Olympic gymnastics squad.

Simone Biles, Sunisa Lee, Jordan Chile, and Grace McCallum will participate in the team’s event, while Jade Carey and MyKayla Skinner will take part in the individual gymnastics sports. They are the six women who have been granted the opportunity to represent the USA in Tokyo, Japan this summer.

After two days of competition, Biles (118.098) and Lee (115.832) won automatic spots. Chiles’ 114,631 finished third, while McCallum finished fourth beating Skinner by .300. Meanwhile, Simone showed strong scores – 30.849 on vault and 29.966 on floor exercise, while on uneven bars (30.200), and balancing beams Lee recorded the top scores (29.466).

Skinner was second on a 30.416 vault and Chiles was second on a 28.733 uneven bar. In order to clinch the second position on the balance beam, Eaker recorded 14.400 on day one and 14.566 on day two. Wong placed second to Biles on the floor exercise, with a total score of 28.166. Take a look at the entire US women’s Olympic gymnastics team.
