Rockfire Identifies Germanium at Greece Project; Shares Rise

By Jaime Llinares Taboada

Shares in Rockfire Resources PLC rose in early trading Tuesday after the company said that its Molaoi zinc project in Greece also contains germanium, one of the world’s critical metals.

The London-listed metal-exploration company said the presence of germanium was discovered during laboratory reanalysis of historical samples.

“The economics and recovery of the germanium is yet to be determined, however the grades returned from the laboratory in our resampling indicate potential for valuable additional metals to be recovered in any future concentrate from Molaoi,” Chief Executive David Price said.

Shares at 0713 GMT were up 13% at 0.52 pence.
