Music and school chorus teacher Phyto Stratis told The National Herald: “I have the privilege of teaching at several schools within our Greek-American community, each with its own unique identity and contribution. What I find particularly moving about the Greek American Institute is the multicultural character of our student body. Through music, song, and theater, we do more than remember our history and pass it on to future generations of Greek-Americans; we also share it with children of many different national and cultural backgrounds. In this way, Greek history, education, and culture travel beyond the boundaries of our own community. For me, both as an educator and an artist, that is something truly special and deeply moving.”
