May 14—Looking to take in authentic Greek culture without getting on a plane? The Marietta Greek Festival has you covered through Sunday.
Attendees of the festival held at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church can eat a variety of Greek offerings from traditional food like souvlaki or gyros and enjoy music, dancing, vendors and children’s activities like face painting. Tours of the Byzantine-style sanctuary featuring beautiful iconography and the history of the faith are also available at the festival.
Admission to the festival is $5, and children under 12 can enter for free. This year, the festival is offering special online ticket packages that include free admission and other deals.
Friday, the festival runs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday, the festival will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday, it will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the festival, visit mariettagreekfestival.com.
