Midtown Manhattan is about to get a taste of Mykonos.
The restaurant chain Nammos is “coming soon” to the U.S. for the first time, landing first in New York, according to press materials.
Nammos was founded in 2003 on Psarou Beach on the Greek island of Mykonos. It began as a seaside taverna, but has become a growing luxury brand, with locations in Dubai, Cannes, Limassol, Sardinia and Montenegro. Earlier this year, a location opened in London, marking the first urban unit away from a coastline.
Parent company the Nammos Group is backed by Lifestyle Holding (ADMO), which is a joint venture between Alpha Dhabi Holding PJSC and Monterock International Ltd. The group also includes the Nammos Hotel Mykonos, which opened in 2023, and the Nammos Resort AMAALA, which opened in Saudi Arabia in September.
The Nammos location in New York will be set across three floors and will feature Mediterranean cuisine, a unique design and a music program, along with the “distinctive social energy” that Nammos is known for, according to press materials.
The move comes as another high-end Greek concept, Estiatorio Milos, is looking for growth capital. Milos was founded in Montreal in 1979 and has expanded to 12 units in seven countries, including three units in the U.S.
