TN caught up with Monday recently to get a better look inside his recruitment:
Who did you speak to when getting the offer?
What was that conversation like?
“It was very comfortable—he has a lot of connections to Arizona since he grew up here, so we had a lot of things to talk about, including his brother in law being our QB coach. He also went to high school at our rival school (Chaparral).”
And what was your reaction to the Florida State offer?
“I was ecstatic—it’s amazing to have a school with the history and the potential to believe in me at such a young age.”
Do you plan to visit FSU when the Dead Period is over?
“Yes—as soon as we can make it happen.”
What other schools are you planning/hoping to visit?
“Wisconsin, Iowa State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Texas, Ohio State and USC.”
How would you describe your game to someone who hasn’t seen you play?
“A fast, violent, and dominant edge rusher.”
What player(s) do you look up to/model your game after?
“One of my mentors since the beginning of high school has been Bertrand Berry—he’s taught me so much and has made me the player I am today. I also love how the Bosa brothers play, as well as the dominance of some of the greats like Warren Sapp and Lawrence Taylor. Also my [defensive] line coach Kyle Caldwell who has taught me a lot as a player and a person.”
What do you like to do for fun outside of football?
“I like to spend time outdoors, especially at the lake with my friends.”
What’s a fun/random fact about you people might not know?
“I love to cook—my dad’s been teaching me since I was little. I [also] find Greek mythology very fascinating.”
Anything specific you like to cook?
“I cook breakfast for my family a lot.”
What are the biggest things you’re looking for in a school when making your final decision?
“Coaching and the type of defense they play.”
