BOUGATSA IS A TRADITIONAL GREEK SWEET AND VERY POPULAR MADE WITH CREAMY CUSTARD AND FILLO PASTRY. THE FILLO CAN BE FILLED AND ROLLED, AND OTHER TIMES, IS MADE WITH SEVERAL LAYERS OF FILLO SHEETS; FIRSTLY LAID IN THE PYREX THEN FOLLOWED WITH CREAM. WHICH IN TURN, THE INGREDIENTS CAN VARY DEPENDING FROM HOUSEHOLD TO HOUSEHOLD. THEN FOLLOWED WITH LAYERS OF FILLO.

INGREDIENTS – GREEK BOUGATSA
8 Fillo pastry sheets
2 cans Carnation evaporated milk
2 cans of water (use the milk tin to measure)
6 tablespoons caster sugar
6 tablespoons self raising flour
1 Vanilla sugar sachet or 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
4 eggs
Icing sugar and Cinnamon to sprinkle.
(For a smaller size of this recipe, Use half of the quantity)
