Authentic Greek restaurant Laros is opening a new venue in south Liverpool tomorrow, Friday, September 23.
Laros already boasts a popular site on Bold Street, as well as a a dark kitchen in Manchester’s Ardwick. Now, the hit restaurant is venturing to Storrsdale Road in Mossley Hill with a new spot.
Laros’ new venue will be open everyday from 10am, serving an extended menu that will offer food lovers Greek pastries and coffee, as well as a new dedicated vegan menu, Laros Green. Its authentic Greek menu includes popular gyros, souvlaki and fresh Greek salads, which will be served and delivered until 10pm, Monday to Thursday, with a 10.30pm close on Fridays and Saturdays, and a slightly earlier closing time of 9.30pm on Sundays.
The venue is a hybrid between a restaurant and takeaway, with thoughtful interiors designed to conjure visions of Greece. It also serves a range of dishes that can be enjoyed at home.
Laros’ aim is to change the face of Greek street food across the North West and beyond. Owner Nikolaos Fylladitakis has worked in the hospitality industry for many years, owning and operating his own restaurants in the city.
He opened Laros’ Bold Street site in May 2021, and within six months had expanded into Manchester, opening a dark kitchen to offer high quality, authentic Greek cuisine to the area via delivery. Originally from Crete, the restaurateur is keen to showcase authentic Greek dishes and produce, with the majority of Laros’ ingredients sourced and imported from Greece itself.
Other ingredients that can’t come from Greece are locally sourced using trusted independents. Laros’ menu staples include chicken or pork gyros, and chicken or pork souvlaki skewers.
The restaurant aims to be as welcoming as possible, being both family and dog friendly.
Of the launch of the new Mossley Hill restaurant, Nikolaos commented: “We’re really excited to be opening in the heart of South Liverpool and can’t wait to welcome the local neighbourhood and beyond to Laros. We want to continue to share real, authentic Greek cuisine with our guests, made with only the highest quality ingredients and fresh each time.
“Our menu has something for everyone; from delicious meat and vegan gyros, to succulent souvlaki skewers, vegan courgette fritters and tomato cakes, fresh Greek salads and our popular Talagani cheese fries – these are better than halloumi – you can come for brunch, lunch or dinner. We’re open everyday from 10am until 11.30pm.”
The new restaurant opens on Friday, September 23. It’s located on Storrsdale Road in Mossley Hill.
