Just a few minutes ago, Australia’s entry for Eurovision 2025 was revealed. The SBS channel’s internal selection was the song “Milkshake Man” by 30-year-old Australian artist Go-Jo ! The news was kept secret until the last day. Released by Chugg Music and Rix Records, Milkshake Man was written by Go-Jo alongside members of Australian pop band Sheppard; George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard and Jason Bovino.
“Milkshake Man” is a fun pop track, playing with the irony in the lyrics and falling within Go-Jo’s characteristic style and personality. With Milkshake Man, he wants to “shake and make the whole world dance”, and encourage people to embrace their individuality, unapologetically and wholeheartedly.
The lyric, “The shake is not a drink – it’s a state of mind, it’s a secret superpower you were born to find”, speaks to how self-expression is something you need to unlock that already exists within you.
“The Milkshake Man’s purpose is to inspire people to embrace the loudest and proudest version of themselves, and I can’t think of a better place to share that message than the Eurovision stage! It’s an absolute dream come true to represent such a beautiful and diverse nation, and I’ve never been more excited to share my art and vision with the incredible Eurovision fans around the world!”

WHO IS GO-JO?
Go-Jo (real name Marty Zambotto ) is an Australian singer, songwriter and producer, known for his original songs and acoustic guitar covers of other artists’ songs. His musical style is described as guitar-based pop & indie. Like the band Voyager (Eurovision 2023), Go-Jo lives and works in Western Australia, on his own remote and self-sustaining private land. This unique upbringing has given Go-Jo the opportunity to create his own unique sound and character.
After getting his first guitar at the age of 13, Go-Jo began producing and writing songs for others before finding his own voice and launching his solo project. He launched his solo career in 2016 with his debut single “Nobody Like You” and has since continued to rack up millions of views for his various renditions. This includes a cover of the song “Iris” which became a major hit on Spotify and his latest release “Cry About” which was warmly received by listeners.
What sets Go-Jo apart from other artists is his incredible ability to write, produce, record, mix, master and perform as an artist, while also having an almost innate ability to connect with fans, entertain and engage with audiences in person both live and online. He has championed an outside-the-box approach to bringing his music to new audiences and is constantly looking for new ways to combine his catchy music with his charming personality and personal style.
Australia will perform in the 1st half of the 2nd semi-final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, on Thursday, May 15 .
