Arlington Greek Festival Gets Go-Ahead, Minus Some Attractions

ARLINGTON, MA — St. Athanasius the Great Greek Orthodox Church recently received Select Board approval to host its annual Greek Food Festival.

The event will include many fan-favorite foods and features of years past, including roast lamb, beef and chicken souvlakia, pastichio, moussaka, Gyro, Greek salad, authentic Greek pastries, coffees and desserts like the fried dough treat loukoumathes.

The festival will be held at 4 Appleton Street with music provided by Salonica Boys and the locally operated internet broadcaster KefiFM.

Additional safety precautions are being taken, including more open-air outdoor seating and a greater focus on takeout meals. Attractions such as the bouncy houses, live music and dance floor will not be available this year.

The festival kicks off Friday, June 11 at 11 a.m. and runs until Sunday, June 13 at 6 p.m.
