Back by popular demand: After delighting audiences last year, 17-year-old Santa Barbara singer Nikki Seppala Kurnik returns by popular demand to the fifth annual “Sounds and Stories of Greek Christmas” benefit concert.
She will share the stage with Santa Barbara opera singer Xeni Tziouvaras, following her recent performance in Rigoletto. Opera Santa Barbara Artistic and General Director Kostis Protopapas will be at the piano.
New this year, is cantor Mario Lazaridis who will perform Byzantine chant, the sacred music of the Orthodox Church, and the eastern counterpart to Gregorian chant. The concert is presented by Opera Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara chapter of AHEPA.
