ASTORIA – Are you looking for something fun to do to celebrate the start of summer, while watching as the sky lights up and the moon turns blue for only one night a year? Well, there’s an event taking place in Astoria that we think you might love.
On Sunday, May 31, at Koukla Espresso Bar at 30-09 35th Avenue in Astoria, a Blue Full Moon Party is taking place in collaboration with Anemi Modern Greek, the Greek dining establishment known for its authentic Greek food with a contemporary twist.

With Afro house music provided by DJ Paul Markos, delicious food by Yianni Gerodimos and his son, Sofianos, from the Greek food truck, Souv Lucky, profiteroles made by Konstantinos Papadopoulos and Sofianos Sarigiannidis from Maison Choux NYC, and cocktails by Roi Xenofontos of De Ja Vu Mobile Van, who will be joined by guest bartender Christophoros from Caprice and Kyma – the event is expected to transport guests to the Mediterranean from 7 to 11 PM.

Inspired after many successful recent Golden Hour parties with famous DJ’s including Jay Hamilton and Rod Ladracy, drawing in more than 200 people each time, the owner of Koukla Espresso Bar, Vasiliki Lampropoulou, said she looked forward to putting on the collaborative Blue Full Moon Party at the end of May.
“I think the Astoria scene has been missing pop-up events like this, and so I wanted to try and introduce a more Athenian vibe here,” Lampropoulou told TNH.

“This event is for the community, and it will be all about the vibe and the cocktails.”
“I will be serving a special cocktail on the night, the Anemi Breeze, which will feature watermelon with vodka, lemon juice, soda, and basil syrup.”
The event welcomes those aged 21 and up, and is expected to combine two moods in one special night.

With plenty of delicious food, beautifully presented cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere, the evening will feature non-stop afro house music as well as Greek remixed songs to get everyone in the party mood.
