A 4.4-magnitude earthquake shook the island of Rhodes late Monday night, according to the Geodynamic Institute.
The tremor occurred at 23:46 local time, with its epicentre located 14 kilometres west of Katavia, in the southern part of the island.
The earthquake had a focal depth of 21.5 kilometres and was recorded offshore. No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been reported. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
Rhodes, part of the seismically active Dodecanese region, frequently experiences earthquakes, though most remain minor. Experts remind residents to stay prepared and follow safety guidelines in the event of stronger tremors.
