Opa! Celebrate your inner Greek at the Greek Festival

The 48th annual St. Barbara Greek Festival will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River. Parking is at Ocean County College and there will be shuttle buses running to and from the festival. Eat Greek pastries, shop, enjoy music. Read more.

Feed your Irish side and support a parade

The Shamrocks by the Sea event is set for 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday in Seaside Park and supports the annual Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Irish festival will be held on the marina lawn at Central Avenue and J Street. There will be Irish step dancers, food, beer and music including performances by the Shamrock & Thistle Pipes & Drums. Read more.

Check out a motorcycle show

The Cheap Thrills Motorcycle Show and Swap Seaside is set for 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Bay Avenue parking lot. There will be motorcycles on display, a “massive swap” and vendors, minibike races, a chopper pool party and live music all weekend. Read more.

Immerse yourself in comic books

The Jersey Shore Comic Book Show returns to the Toms River Elks Lodge at 600 Washington St. in Toms River. It’s scheduled from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday and will feature numerous vendors offering up comic books, graphic novels, toys, non-sports and sports cards, pokemon, yu-gi-ho, anime, manga, action figures, funko pops, collectibles, and more. There will be artists and independent comic book writers as well with art, prints, and books for sale. The 501st Star Wars Legion will be there with storm troopers, Darth Vader, and other Star War characters, along with the Saber Guild, which will have saber battle classes for youngsters and anyone interested. There will be a sign-up sheet at their table. Admission price is $3 and kids 12 and younger are free. There is no early admission. Read more.

Take a walk to help fight Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s New Jersey is hosting its 2021 Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s on Saturday in Point Pleasant Beach. The funds raised support New Jersey families through Alzheimer’s New Jersey’s programs and services. Registration for the walk begins at 8:30 a.m. at the walk headquarters at Arnold and Baltimore avenues, with the 2.5-mile walk along Ocean Avenue and the Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk beginning at 10 a.m. There will be an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. To register go to www.alznj.org.
